Jessica Simpson is bringing the heat this winter showing off her weight loss results. The singer and former reality star debuts her figure in an animal print swimsuit after dropping 100 lbs. The 43-year-old’s weight loss journey hasn’t just been about appearances, though. She’s been on a personal transformation of self-love and empowerment.
Nowadays, Jessica is a mom of three. She openly discusses her journey to sobriety and takes to social media to share that she “gained and lost 100 lbs three times.” In her early days of fame, she explained in her memoir, Open Book, she turned to diet pills to lose 15 lbs after signing a record deal, reports Hello! Magazine.
Jessica Simpson’s weight loss
In April 2022, Jessica shared a bikini-clad snap to Instagram with an important message.
She revealed to her 6.4 million followers that she “never thought” she’d be wearing a bikini during Spring Break.
The actress was all smiles in the photo as she added that she “gained and lost 100 lbs three times,” in her life.
She wrote in the caption that three very important things had aided her in her weight loss journey: “Hard work, determination, self love,” adding: “I enjoyed a good proud cry today.”
Jessica’s journey was all about self-love
Despite losing 100 lbs, Jessica’s journey hasn’t just been about her looks. She has taken to Instagram to share snippets of her journey, detailing that she gets moving for her “mental health,” and is now her “own best friend.”
In a July interview with Bustle, Jessica explained that she didn’t jump on the Ozempic bandwagon in order to lose weight.
She has also taken to social media to open up about sobriety, writing last year: “The most important thing I have learned through the last 5yrs without alcohol being a guard for escapism, is that I CAN and ALWAYS WILL get through it…”
Taking to Instagram in 2020, she wrote: “Woke up before all 3 kiddos to get my steps in and spend time with me, myself, and I. Move move move for your own mental health.”
She also shared on her 42nd birthday in 2022 that she was “…humbled and honored to finally be my own best friend.”
‘Reinvention’ is ‘inspiring’
On December 15, Jessica took to Instagram to share a photo of herself wearing her namesake brand.
The singer is seen looking a million dollars posing in one of her label’s swimsuits.
She models the $88 zebra-print one piece, captioning the post: “Thirsty.”
Jessica’s post has many of her fans taking to the comments section to compliment her and many are “inspired” by her transformation.
One person commented: “There’s power in women who reinvent themselves. Thank you for rising up. When women support women, that’s power.”
